Title | Friends of Westminster Tate Britain Tour: 10:30am |
Details | This tour will start outside Tate Britain to discuss the site where the gallery was built and the meaning of the building style. Some comparisons will be made with the Clore Gallery beside it. The tour will begin inside with Turner. We will consider the Romantic Movement in art and look at his diaries if they are on show. We will then move on to the wonderful Pre-Raphaelite room and explore many paintings in the light of the group’s interest in literature and the role of the Fallen Woman, which relates to the site and story of the gallery. No trip to Tate Britain is complete without at least a glance at Henry Moore’s sculpture. We will end our tour in this gallery and adjacent room. Please note no refunds are available for this event. |
