Title | Westminster School Choral & Orchestral Concert: Vivaldi, Dixit Dominus and Berlioz, Te Deum |
Details | Like the Barbican (our venue for well over a decade), the Festival Hall is one of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, and it is an enormous privilege for us to make music there. The concert will feature the Choir of Westminster School, Westminster School Symphony Orchestra and the Westminster Under School Senior Choir alongside the Westminster Choral Society (170 singers made up of current Westminster parents, parents of OWW, OWW, governors and staff). In keeping with previous years, we will also be joined by a number of our partner schools and organisations: Westminster City School, The Grey Coat Hospital, Pimlico Academy, Harris Westminster Sixth Form, Burdett Coutts CofE Primary School and the Pimlico Musical Foundation, in partnership with the Tri-borough Music Hub. Approximately 300 pupils (as well as many more adults) will be on stage to perform Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus and Berlioz’s Te Deum, with professional soprano soloist Isabelle Haile, alto Robin Blaze, tenor Andrew Kennedy, and bass Jonathan Brown. With the big stage comes an even bigger auditorium, and we hope to fill it with as many members — past and present — of the Westminster community as possible. |
