Born to Japanese and French parents, I have always been fascinated by different cultures. I came to Westminster at the age of 13, and eventually decided to study Chinese, Physics, Maths and Further Maths for A-Level. Rowing was a formative and rewarding part of my time at Westminster.

I pursued an undergraduate degree in Computer Science at MIT, where I conducted research on machine learning for autonomous vehicles, iris analysis for diabetes diagnosis, and educational skills assessment for the Australian government to optimise worker retraining during the pandemic. During this time, I also interned at companies like Facebook, Microsoft, and J.P. Morgan in various technical roles.

I’m a firm believer in the power of an interdisciplinary education, which has often led me to my most meaningful ideas. I spent my third year at the University of Oxford, where I studied and performed research in International Relations. In my final year at MIT, I conducted research on negotiations in times of crisis, taught negotiation to undergraduates at MIT and internationally to MBA students in Malaysia, and co-authored a book on strategies for video negotiation. Around this period, I delivered a TEDx talk emphasising the significance of diverse perspectives in generating innovative, transformative concepts. MIT was an incredible experience that opened my mind to interests and problems worth tackling that I had never considered before.

Upon graduation, I spent a year in public-sector consulting at McKinsey in New York before founding diploAI, an organisation exploring the potential of technology in enhancing international negotiations, particularly those concerning climate change. We now engage in projects across the world, partnering with multilateral organisations, governments and NGOs to help them explore how to best embed recent advances in technology into their negotiations. Additionally, I co-host a podcast on negotiation alongside an MIT faculty member, with the aim of making the field more approachable for teenagers and young adults.
